From May 23 to May 24, 2024, as the rotating chairman unit of 2023, the fifth rotating meeting of the "Belt and Road" Western Education International Exchange and Cooperation Alliance hosted by Hainan Education International Exchange Association was held in Haikou City, Hainan Province.
In order to further promote multi-level and wide-ranging international educational exchanges and cooperation in western provinces and regions, and comprehensively improve the quality of education opening to the outside world, the "Belt and Road" Western Education International Exchange and Cooperation Alliance was established on December 12, 2019, and there are 10 alliance units, which are: Chongqing, Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Shaanxi, Ningxia, Guangxi, Hainan, Qinghai, Xinjiang provincial and municipal Local Education International Exchange Association.
Ni Huifang, president of Yunnan Association, pointed out in his speech that in the past five years, the member units of the Western Alliance have overcome the impact of the epidemic on their work, made every effort to explore and innovate, and done a lot of effective work. It has expanded its influence and played a positive role in actively serving and integrating into the national "Belt and Road" initiative, and vigorously carrying out a wider scope, higher level and deeper level of education opening up to the outside world in the western region. Four suggestions are put forward for the next work of the Western Education Alliance: First, continue to give full play to the advantages of the Western Education Alliance, strengthen the resource sharing and information exchange of the alliance units, and establish an effective mechanism to carry out work; Second, the Western Education Alliance can cooperate in many aspects such as co-construction of vocational education materials, co-education of talents, and co-training of teachers to promote the reform and development of vocational education of the Western Education Alliance; Third, continue to give full play to traditional advantages, focus on cooperation in study abroad, winter summer camps, international teacher training, expert team resources; Fourth, it is suggested to set up the expert database of Western Education Alliance. And invited all member units to participate in the "Boao Global Vocational Education Conference 2024" co-sponsored by Yunnan Association, China Association for the Promotion of Trade Construction Branch and China Electronics Enterprise Association in Boao, Hainan.
Chongqing Association as the permanent secretariat of the alliance, Chongqing Association Chief Supervisor Hu Bin in his speech first on behalf of the association's new council on the convening of the rotating meeting, summed up the Chongqing Association as a permanent secretariat in recent years to carry out a series of work. It also pointed out that Chongqing Association now has the advantages of multi-functional economic and trade platform education alliance in SCO countries, and has built bases with Russia, Kazakhstan, South Korea, etc., to provide convenience for all kinds of education at all levels to go out, school-school cooperation, school-enterprise cooperation, and joint training of talents. Chongqing Association will make every effort to promote vocational education to the sea, teaching with the output, the integration of production and education, and the voice of China's vocational education.
Representatives from Yunnan, Sichuan, Guizhou, Guangxi, Shaanxi and other associations of alliance units made speeches successively. The Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region Education International Exchange Association held the signing ceremony as a new member of the Alliance, and Sichuan Education International Exchange Association served as the rotating chairman unit of the 2024 "Belt and Road" Western Education International Exchange and Cooperation Alliance. Tan Xin, president of Sichuan Association, accepted the rotating flag handover and made a speech at the meeting.
During the meeting, the participants also visited Hainan Liyou Art Vocational and Technical College, Hainan Economic and Trade Vocational and Technical College, Lingshui Li 'an International Education Innovation Experimental Zone, and went to the Red Detachment of Women to carry out joint party building activities.
