The Sino-Thai University Presidents Forum - Industrial Innovation and Talent Training Conference of China-Asean Educational Exchange Week 2024 was successfully held in Guiyang

On August 23, 2024, it was jointly organized by Chongqing Education International Exchange Association, Thailand Higher Education Scientific Research and Innovation Ministry Office, Asian Chamber of International Trade and Investment, and Thailand-China Education Alliance Association. The "China-Thailand University Presidents Forum - Industrial Innovation and Talent Training" conference hosted by Guizhou University was held in the ASEAN Forum Hall, permanent venue of China-Asean Educational Exchange Week in GUI 'an New Area. A total of 134 people from 7 chambers of commerce, associations, 41 universities and 6 enterprises of China and Thailand attended the meeting.

The main guests attending the forum were Mr. Punpermsak Aruni, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation in Higher Education of Thailand, Mr.Montree Pongpan, President of the Thailand-China Education Union Association, and Dr.Manit, Secretary General of the Private Higher Education Association of Thailand Boonprasert, President of Siam University Pornchai Mongkhonvanit, Vice President of RMIT Panakhon University Asst.prof.dr.prin boonkanit, Li Shiyu, Secretary General of Chongqing Education International Exchange Association, Wang Xu, Vice President of Guizhou University, Zhu Yugao, Party Secretary of Chongqing Youth Vocational and Technical College, Li Xuerong, Vice President of Chongqing Preschool Teachers College, Luo Xiaoliang, Vice President of Chongqing Industry and Commerce Vocational College, Li Huimin, Vice President of Chongqing Hailian Vocational and Technical College, and Guangdong Provincial Private Education Association, Responsible person of Yunnan, Sichuan and Hainan Education International Exchange Association.The forum was co-chaired by Zhu Yugao, Party Secretary of Chongqing Youth Vocational and Technical College, and Dr.Manit Boonprasert, Secretary General of Thailand Private Higher Education Association. The sub-forum was presided over by Sun Yuzhong, Director of International Cooperation and Exchange Center of Chongqing Urban Management Vocational College.

Li Shiyu, Secretary General of Chongqing Education International Exchange Association, attended the forum and delivered a speech on behalf of the Chinese host. She said that the forum aims to build a good platform for universities, chambers of commerce, associations and enterprises of both China and Thailand to gather resources, discuss cooperation, seek development and promote win-win results. She also hopes that universities, chambers of commerce and associations of both sides will continue to enhance mutual understanding. To carry forward friendship, mutual learning and expand cooperation, effectively serve China-Thailand economic and social development, friendly economic and trade exchanges, industrial innovation needs and educational people-to-people exchanges, and contribute the wisdom and strength of education to the 50th anniversary of China-Thailand diplomatic ties in 2025 and the construction of China-Thailand community of shared future.

Mr.Montree Pongpan, President of the Thailand-China Education Alliance Association, mentioned that China and Thailand have a long history of friendly people-to-people exchanges. He hopes that Thai universities will have more exchanges and study with Chinese universities, and also welcomes Chinese teachers and students to study and exchange in Thailand.

Wang Xu, Vice President of Guizhou University, mentioned in his welcome speech that in recent years ‌ Guizhou University has actively seized the opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative, and has carried out extensive exchanges and cooperation with Thai universities in such fields as exchange visits, ‌ teacher-student exchange, ‌ scientific research cooperation, ‌ foreign aid education, ‌ joint education, ‌ international student training, and ‌ and achieved breakthrough results.

Mr. Punpermsak Aruni, Director of the Office of the Ministry of Scientific Research and Innovation of Higher Education of Thailand, said that the friendship between China and Thailand has a long history and the comprehensive strategic cooperation carried out in multiple aspects has been developing continuously. He hoped that the participants of this forum will exchange ideas extensively, establish friendship, build consensus and grow together.

At this forum, Chongqing Education International Exchange Association and Thai-China Education Alliance Association reached a cooperation intention and signed an agreement on jointly building a double center for training China-Thailand technical skills talents, namely, setting up a "China-Thailand Technical Skills Talent Training Center" in Chongqing, China and a "Thai-China Technical Skills Talent Training Center" in Bangkok, Thailand. Strive to build a long-term mechanism for China-Thailand cooperation in industry and education.Yunnan Education International Exchange Association and Thai-China Education Alliance Association, Yangtze Normal University and Southeast Bangkok University, Chongqing Urban Management Vocational College and Southeast Bangkok University, Hefei Vocational College of Finance and Economics and Southeast Bangkok University, Chongqing Hailian Vocational and Technical College and Northern University of Bangkok, Jiangxi Engineering College and Zhengda Management College, Jiangxi Normal College Framework agreements and memorandums of cooperation were also signed with Thailand Ruijapu University, Jiangxi Tourism Business Vocational College and Thailand Ruijapu University.

At the main forum in the morning, the speakers of Chinese and Thai universities made in-depth exchanges and discussions on the status quo, models, prospects and opportunities of China-Thailand higher education exchanges and cooperation from different angles. In the afternoon sub-forum, the delegates focused on the "new energy automobile industry and Sino-Thai e-commerce talent training" for in-depth discussion. And shared the practical experience and results in the production and education cooperation, with the enterprise to go to the sea, standard guidance, personnel training mode and other aspects.

The forum featured diverse representatives, focused topics, full exchanges and fruitful outcomes. Chongqing Education Association for International Exchange will continue to be committed to promoting educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Thailand, promote bilateral cooperation to be more pragmatic, effective and innovative, and play a positive role in promoting the joint construction of the "Belt and Road".
